The weekend truly was a family affair with Ocala-based Tik Maynard (CAN) taking the blue in the CCI2*-S aboard Galileo, a KWPN gelding owned by Richard Maynard on a score of 21.3, the best dressage score of the weekend. Terranova committee member and Marion County OHP client, Sara Kozumplik-Murphy, also had an incredibly successful weekend, winning the CCI 3*S aboard Devil Munchkin, and finishing second in the CCI 4*S aboard Rubens D’ysieux, both horses owned by the Unicorn Group. His wife, Lesley Grant-Law (CAN), riding Castle Howard Romeo, won the Open Intermediate, sponsored by Wordley Martin Premium Equestrian Surfaces! Highlights included a winning weekend for the Ocala based Grant-Law family – with Leslie Law (GBR) topping the CCI 4*S aboard Lady Chatterley in the Open Preliminary, aboard Irish Sport Horse gelding Shirsheen Ice. Just a few hours from Ocala, Florida, our hometown equestrians certainly had a strong showing at the inaugural event – sweeping all the FEI divisions. Ocala, Florida Based Equestrians Sweep FEI Divisions The entire weekend went off without a hitch, with spectators and competitors feeling grateful for yet another world-class competition venue in Florida. This new Florida equestrian destination includes 225 acres for competition, 8 Wordley Martin Equestrian arenas, including a massive 320’ by 400’ main arena, custom irrigation and carefully curated cross country footing, an internationally designed XC course, raised viewing areas for spectators, and an impressive VIP experience. To manage the facilities and events, the families formed an advisory board and event management team of professionals including facility manager Michale Belisle, course designers Captain Mark Phillip, Eric Bull and Nick Granat, sponsorship director Ainsley Hayes, event managers Max Corcoran and Shelly Howerton Page, Media coverage by Carrie Worth and EQ Media – as well as committee members including Ocala Horse Properties’ client, Sara Kozumplik Murphy. The Herrig/Ketelboeter families spared no effort nor expense in designing a world class facility. It was no small feat orchestrating such a broad offering of divisions, but the team at Terranova hired the best in the eventing industry.
